Lokobe National Park begins at your doorstep.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Between diving, forest walks, plantation tours and relaxing on the beaches, every day offers something new to discover. Our kayaks allow you to explore the coastline freely, and excursions to the islands of the archipelago depart from the villa or from Hellville, 10 minutes away.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Lokobe National Park<\/h2><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Our accommodation borders Lokobe National Park, the island’s last remaining large forest. The trails are accessible on foot from Villa Lokobe, with no transfer required. This dense forest is home to endemic flora and fauna. Local guides know the best times to observe the inhabitants of the canopy and identify species such as lemurs, chameleons and endemic plants.<\/p>\n

You can organise a guided tour according to your level, from an easy stroll to a challenging hike, or simply take a walk at sunrise to enjoy this unique setting.<\/p>\n

Lemur – Maki<\/h3>\n

In the Lokobe Forest, lemurs move in groups from tree to tree. These primates feed on ripe fruit, nectar and young shoots. The male has uniformly dark fur, contrasting with the female’s reddish-brown coat.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Tree boa<\/h3>\n

This snake lives mainly in the trees of the tropical forest. Its green colouring with subtle patterns provides effective camouflage in the vegetation. Active after dark, it locates its prey using heat-sensitive organs located near its mouth. It captures rodents and birds by constriction, a technique that involves wrapping itself around its prey until it suffocates.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Uroplatus<\/h3>\n

This flat-tailed gecko spends its days motionless against tree trunks, head pointing downwards. Its flattened body and intricately patterned skin mimic bark with remarkable accuracy. The folds of skin along its body eliminate any shadows that might betray its presence. Its eyelidless eyes remain open at all times. At night, it comes to life to hunt insects and spiders, moving slowly along the branches.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Ylang-ylang distilleries<\/h3>\n

Ylang-ylang, vanilla, cocoa and coffee have earned Nosy Be its nickname of \u2018Perfume Island\u2019. The distilleries open their doors to explain the process of making essential oils.<\/p>\n

Mont Passot and volcanic lakes<\/h3>\n
